On Saturday evening - July 24 - there are two different events by artists near-and-dear to TomoeArts' heart. Go see one of them. They will both be wonderful. Guaranteed. Wish I could be in two places at one time!

Performed in real-time before the audience, Microscopic Live Cinem
a-Theatre magnifies miniature worlds by projecting them onto the big screen. In this, the fourth Nekaa Room in the series, follow the adventures of The Sheep, a major character in previous productions, searching for a place to call Home.


Isshin Denshin: Carving The Air
Multi-disciplinary sonic explorations by electro-acoustic ensemble Isshin Denshin (Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos and Kirk Watson) with special guest Eien Hunter-Ishikawa
8PM @ Tozenji Temple, 209 Jackson, Coquitlam

Composer and performer for Ten Nights of Dream, Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos will astound on shakuhachi, and composer and performer for EN (circle/fate) will dazzle on taiko.

Summer Odori – Free Performance on Granville Island


TomoeArts teams up with Otowa-ryu Japanese Dance to do a fun, outdoor concert of many kinds of Japanese traditional dance with summertime themes. Also featuring taiko by Eien Ishikawa-Hunter and yokobue (flute) with Alcvin RyuzenRamos.

July 18 – 2-3pm in Ron Basford Park – Granville Island (next to Performance Works).
